EVVA equips TownTown, the largest business park of its type in Austria, with comprehensive security technology.
Twenty-one office buildings are housed over a total area of 128,500 m². Many well-known companies and local government offices have their headquarters in TownTown. This city within a city dominates the Vienna skyline. Security and convenience play a particularly important role in such complex building structures. The operators rely on EVVA, a specialist with decades of experience.
Optimum, future-proof investment – a practical example
Such a superlative business park requires a well-engineered security concept to accommodate the needs of operators and all users, a great challenge, particularly if it isn't yet clear how many tenants there will be when the project is finally completed. This is due to the fact that demand also determines supply in the office building sector. TownTown started back in 2007 with two buildings and one tenant, the Vienna Hospitals Network. No problem for an average locking system, but the operators knew that this was just the beginning. TownTown's location and concept impressed more and more companies. However, very complex locking authorisations can only be made possible using a system with enormous potential for variations. That's why the operators decided on EVVA's 3KS (3-Curve System) right from the outset, an internationally, highly successful mechanical locking system.
The operators' faith in the system has been affirmed. Today, most of the buildings are under a permament lease and equipped with about 3,000 EVVA cylinders overall. Any buildings which are still at the planning stage and any possible future extensions can easily be integrated into the security system. The EVVA system thus offers a particularly future-proof investment.
Combi keys for mechanics and electronics
EVVA's electronic locking system controls all access authorisations for the twenty-one companies in TownTown. Both mechanical and electronic solutions have been deployed. EVVA's SALTO XS4 access control has been installed at main entrances and in sensitive areas, such as server rooms. More than thirty electronic SALTO XS4 wall readers and ecutcheons control access authorisations; this includes twenty online wall readers, which guarantee immediate transfer of data.
The system offers a particularly convenient feature: users only require a single identification medium. Authorised users can operate both the mechanical and the electronic system and enter different areas using their EVVA Combi key. The software can be used to issue and modify access authorisations quickly and easily, thus effortlessly incorporating fluctuations in staffing levels, for instance. EVVA systems are equipped with a mechanical emergency override mechanism, often a requirement by emergency services such as the fire service to assure access to buildings in the event of an emergency.
EVVA protects TownTown
The operators can be pleased with themselves. The city continues to grow with more office blocks over twenty storeys high under construction or at the planning stage. The EVVA locking system will effortlessly incorporate such extensions and thus provide all-round security for a boomimg TownTown.
