news, press | 02. May 2011 Security for the highest building in Switzerland.
At 126 metres, the 36-storey Prime Tower has become a new landmark in Zurich. This building impresses thanks to its distinctive design and its well-engineered security concept from EVVA.
The Prime Tower's operators have put a great deal into the project. The giant office building can accommodate up to 2,000 workplaces over 40,000 square metres of floor space. Hundreds of apartments as well as parks, business premises and green spaces are also to be included in the development.
Mechanical Locking System ICS
As this was such a unique project, high standards were required by those responsible for the building's security. That's why a particularly wear-resistant, mechanical locking system was chosen: EVVA's ICS (Inner Code System), a system which excels thanks to its resistant longitudinal profile, time-tested curve system and concealed biting. Around 2,000 mechanical locking cylinders have been installed. Combined with the electronic locking system SALTO XS4, they provide optimum building security.
Security technology from a single-source provider
The electronic locking system consists of about 180 online and 400 offline components and is integrated into the building control system, which controls items such as the alarm and fire detection system. The main entrances, lifts and parking facility barriers are controlled online, while other important doors are equipped with offline components. Each user has an identity medium in the form of a chip card, key tag or Combi key. An additional advantage is offered by the fact that each access attempt and each opening or locking process is logged and can be traced in the central building control system.
EVVA security technology has enabled the Prime Tower's operator to provide an optimal security system for their building, while EVVA was able to prove its high standards once more in its capacity as a single-source provider.
